Ben Barnard

“Sawdust in the veins” we call it, 34 years in the furniture industry worldwide has put some years on me and yes, I did appear on 2 BBC programmes on behalf of Habitat as their in-house furniture expert and in the Sunday Telegraph upon graduation as one of the UK’s top 6 new designers. At only 42, I’ve got some miles left to walk though. For those keen at numbers that means I made my first ‘chair’ (we shall politely call it) aged 8in my dad’s workshop. I think arguably that’s child labour….

I’m happily a 2nd generation designer & cabinet maker brought up with my father’s workshop as my 2nd home. 1 apprenticeship later, and a degree in ‘Designing and Making’ from High Wycombe under my belt I jumped from the ‘bench’ to the desk and started a 10-year career in the commercial world for some of the UK’s top brands and designers including:

Culminating in 2 years living and working In South China consulted on behalf of a company most folk haven’t heard of – Li & Fung – who happen to be the world’s largest sourcing company. Chances are your home has something in it sourced by them.

Fast forward to 2013 and I officially started a home refurbishment service in South West London, we now focus on kitchens and work bathrooms and all manner of fitted cabinetry, my unique background means that we often delight our customers with our ability to offer fully bespoke solutions and a service level that delights.
